"Turn the other cheek." "Forgive seventy times seven." "Those who live by the sword, die by the sword." "Love your enemies." "Don't parade your piety before people." Jesus said and did some amazing things. But then he was crucified, died and was buried and on the third day he rose from the dead and ascended into heaven.

Now what?

The study of church history is a study of what happens when the Kingdom of God collides with the way things are. It is fascinating, brutal, and sublime. Get a taste for why we are the way we are. Part I will cover Pentecost to 1517 (that's when Martin Luther begged leave to differ) and will finish up in late July. Part II is from 1517 to right now and it will be completed just before Christmas.
